ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Stowe Performing Arts is a volunteer non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that began in 1976 with a series of concerts in Whiskers Field. These concerts later became known as the Music in the Meadow Concerts held in the Trapp Family Lodge Concert Meadow. While Stowe Performing Arts occasionally works on projects with other arts organizations, Stowe Performing Arts is not affiliated with any other group presenting concerts in Stowe such as the Vermont Mozart Festival or the Stowe Summer Music Festival.

Since its inception in 1976, Stowe Performing Arts has continued to expand its offerings to the community in keeping with its mission statement. Sponsorship and proceeds from Stowe Performing Arts' popular Meadow series concerts fund many of the free programs and grants that Stowe Performing Arts works diligently to provide to the community.

Throughout the history of the organization, Stowe Performing Arts has funded its work through volunteer efforts on the part of its board and community support, as evidenced by attendance at events and sponsorships. It is this type of support that has allowed the organization to weather difficult financial times and to continue to present an increasingly impressive array of performing artists in the greater Stowe Community.
